Commonly known as White Elephant, Yankee Swap, or Dirty Santa - we call it Gift Exchange! 🎁
HOW IT WORKS
- The platform will randomly determine the order in which guests get to choose their gift.
- The first person starts by selecting an unwrapped gift from the "pile" of gifts (images of wrapped gifts) - by clicking on the image, the gift is "opened".
- Everyone sees an image of what the gift is inside the box.
- Now it's the next person's turn - they get to select an unwrapped gift from the pile or they can choose to steal the other person's gift. If they steal it, the person who got their gift stolen will select another gift.
- And so on until everyone has a gift!
We have programmed the game to keep track of whose turn it is, how many times a gift has been stolen, and when a gift is "locked." Gifts can be stolen two times before it becomes locked. Whoever ends up with it "locked" (meaning, they were the second person to steal it) gets to keep it!
The gift exchange will happen at the start of your event. We expect the gift exchange to take 15-30 minutes, depending on the size of your group and how quickly they make decisions about choosing/stealing gifts (if you've played in-person before, you know the competition for the favorite gifts can get fierce).
GIFTS
We have done the hard part for you! We have curated two gift lists. All you need to do is choose which gifts you want to offer.
After the event, we will upload the list of guest names, their assigned gift, and a link to the gift on your Dashboard event under 'Media & Downloads'. You will order and mail the gifts to your guests. All gifts can be purchased on Amazon. You are absolutely free to order the gift - or something similar - from anywhere you'd like though.
PRICING
- Free Option: Include the Gift Exchange during your already scheduled 1-hour event and choose between the $10 or $25 gift list. There is no fee additional fee for this option, other than the gifts you purchase.
- Customize Gifts: Include the Gift exchange during your already scheduled 1-hour event and customize your own gifts. This will require a $500 Pro Upgrade, among other branding opportunities (available 5 business days or more before the event). Here is more information about the Pro Upgrades
- Add 30 Minutes: Add an additional 30 minutes to accommodate the Gift Exchange and choose between the $10 or $25 gift list (necessary for Murder on the Mystery Express & Space Escape - optional for every other event, but recommended for the best experience). This is based on availability. The cost is half the price of your 1st hour.
- Customize + Add 30 Minutes: Add an additional 30 minutes to accommodate the Gift Exchange and choose between the customize your own gifts (necessary for Murder on the Mystery Express & Space Escape - optional for every other event, but recommended for the best experience). This is based on availability. The cost is half the price of your 1st hour as well as a $500 Pro Upgrade, among other branding opportunities (available 5 business days or more before the event).
